The Commercial Court of Orléans, France, after analysing the three takeover bids for the Duralex glassworks, accepted on July 26, the proposal for a cooperative production company (SCOP) supported by 60 percent of the staff and led by the site’s management.
According to this cooperative project all 226 jobs at the company, which was placed in receivership at the end of April, will be saved.
The court spoke of a “coherent and serious marketing and commercial project” with “strong guarantees”, considering that the SCOP appears able to maintain “employees’ activities in feasible conditions.”
