Conference and course provider IMI Europe announced a programme of courses for its Inkjet Winter Workshop event, from January 27 to 31, 2025.
The workshop returns to Valencia, Spain, with six courses allowing developers to get an in-depth look at key technology areas, with direct relevance for using inkjet to print on glass.
The line-up includes the Inkjet Academy introductory course, along with courses on single pass inkjet system design, ink characterisation, ink drying & curing, drive electronics and waveforms and inkjet materials and applications.
The Single Pass Inkjet System Design course returns after a four-year break, with new and updated content. The Inkjet Winter Workshop will be held at the Hotel Primus Valencia with full hospitality during and after each course.
Inkjet Academy
January 27 to 28
Presented by Dr Mark Bale of DoDxAct and Dr Tim Phillips of Catenary Solutions/IMI Europe, the course introduces the basics of inkjet technology.
Single Pass Inkjet System Design
January 27 to 28
Returning after many years, this course covers the challenges of single pass inkjet printer design and process development. It’s led by Rob Rogers, formerly of Epson, FUJIFILM Dimatix and EFI Jetrion.
Inkjet Ink Characterisation
January 29 to 30
This course covers rheology and surface tension measurements, particle and dispersion assessment, as well as drop visualisation and print quality analysis. Course leaders include KRÜSS, ImageXpert and Netzsch.
Selecting & Driving Printheads
January 29 to 30
Presented by experts from Meteor Inkjet, this course covers the hardware and software required for driving printheads, including printhead selection, screening algorithms, drive electronics and waveform optimisation.
Inkjet Drying & Curing
January 30 to 31
This course provides key information about fixing inkjet inks, covering near-IR drying, UV curing and electron beam curing hardware, as well as the required chemistry. The course includes contributions from Adphos, Phoseon, Ibis Innovation and Catenary Solutions.
Inkjet Inks: Materials & Applications
January 30 to 31
The course gives an overview of the different ink platform technologies in use today, with an emphasis on practical aspects of materials selection and optimisation for the low viscosity requirement of inkjet printing. The course is led by inkjet ink expert Dr Mark Bale.
“Our Inkjet Winter Workshop is the ideal place to learn about inkjet technology in a relaxed environment,” comments Dr Tim Phillips, Managing Director IMI Europe. “We have a great venue in Valencia and six excellent courses from industry leaders. As well as learning from the course providers, the Inkjet Winter Workshop also gives excellent opportunities to exchange information with the other attendees, with lunches, coffee breaks and evening receptions”
